Maskarade 2013MASKARADE is an annual gala themed as a masked event. It aims to enlighten the community about the stigma attached to HIV/AIDS and those touched by the disease, including their families, friends and caregivers. The Farha Foundation gathered 350 distinguished guests and raised $250 000 during the 14th edition of its annual MASKARADE gala, taking place at the Marché Bonsecours in Montreal on February 21, 2013. This glamorous evening was themed "INSPIRE" to emphasize the importance of inspiring our youth to one day be part of a generation void of AIDS. "It was a wonderful night of extraordinary dining and entertainment and we are thrilled with the support we received this year!" states Linda Farha, spokesperson of the Farha Foundation. "We raised $250,000 in donations, which will be distributed among organizations fighting against HIV/AIDS all across Quebec." MASKARADE 2013 was an unforgettable evening with the presence of the Honourary Chairpersons Andrew and Arlene Torriani and the master of ceremonies Sonia Benezra, the performances of singer J.D. Fortune and DJ Donald Lauture, a choreographed show created specifically for the event by Scott Fordham, and a silent auction with exceptional items. All event profits went to the Farha Foundation. “INSPIRE” is also about motivating our youth and how they may be inspired by their parents, peers, mentors and heroes to one day be part of a generation void of HIV/AIDS. |
